LRH Offers Breast Health Email Reminders
Lakes Regional Healthcare now offers breast health email reminders via their web site at www.lakeshealth.org. Upon entering Lakes Regional Healthcare’s home page, patients can click on a link that says “Breast Health Email Reminders,” which will take them to an online form that requests a name, email address, street address, phone, password, and which email reminder to receive. There are two options of breast health reminder emails. The first is sent monthly and is a reminder to do a breast self-examination. This email lists the steps to performing a breast self-examination for reference. The second breast health email reminder is sent annually and reminds the recipient to schedule a mammogram. People may sign up for either or both reminders. Each time an email is received, the person receiving the email will have the option to stop receiving future emails.
Lakes Regional Healthcare Vice President of Administrative Services Jennifer Gustafson said, “Emails will be sent to the specified email address monthly, annually, or both based on what the person selects. Statistically, one in eight women will experience breast cancer in their lifetime. It’s best to detect breast cancer early, in its most treatable stage. Most women understand the importance of mammograms and breast self-exams, but with their busy day to day lives sometimes forget to actually perform them. These email reminders hopefully will help women remember to schedule their mammograms and perform their breast self-exams.”
Those interested in receiving breast health reminder emails are encouraged to sign up at www.lakeshealth.org.
