LRH to Offer Free Diabetic Management Presentation
Lakes Regional Healthcare (LRH) is offering an upcoming presentation on diabetes management. LRH Registered Dietitian Beth Samuelson will give the presentation. Topics will include the affect of food on blood sugar and how to develop a system of meal planning to help achieve good blood sugar control and still eat foods that are enjoyed. There will be an opportunity to ask Samuelson questions during the presentation.
Samuelson said, “Knowing what to eat and how to manage your health is so important when you’re diabetic. We’re entering the time of year when holiday eating can be a challenge, so this is a perfect opportunity to help understand how to manage your blood sugars from a nutrition standpoint just before the holiday season is in full gear.”
The presentation will be held on Tuesday, December 2 from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. in the Big Spirit room in LRH’s education center, near the hospital’s southeast entrance. Seating is limited, so those planning on attending are to register beforehand by calling 712-336-8785 and are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes early. Free glucose meters will be available, admission is free and a light lunch and refreshments will be provided.
