LRH Announces New President and CEO
Lakes Regional Healthcare (LRH) Board of Trustees announced today that Jason Harrington has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
“I am excited about the opportunity to work with the hospital employees, medical staff, and community to maintain the hospital’s momentum,” said Harrington. “Together, we will enhance and expand quality healthcare services to meet the needs of the area’s residents.”
LRH Board of Trustees Chairperson Mark Fisher said, “Jason is an innovative leader with experience in operations and management from both hospital-based and clinic-based settings. We’re happy to have him on our team and think he is an ideal person to lead our hospital into the future.”
Harrington comes to LRH from Spencer Hospital, where he was the Vice President of Operations since 2005 and also served as the interim CEO since October. Previously he was the Regional Clinic Administrator of Avera Health physician clinics in northwest Iowa communities including Spencer and Spirit Lake. Prior to that, Harrington was the Regional Human Resource Director at Avera McKennan in Sioux Falls. He holds a Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration from Des Moines University and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Northern Iowa and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Harrington begins work on July 1 and replaces Rich Kielman, who has been President and CEO of the hospital since 1991 and previously announced his retirement effective on June 30. |
