LRH Hospice Volunteer Honored
Lakes Regional Healthcare Hospice volunteer Carol Herzog was recently honored for her work in hospice at the Hospice & Palliative Care Association of Iowa conference in Ames. According to Lakes Regional Healthcare Hospice Director Micki Kohorst, “Carol is such an asset to our hospice service. She has a wonderful ability to put our patients and their families at ease with her kind and calm nature.” Herzog provides many volunteer duties at Lakes Regional Healthcare Hospice, including assisting the volunteer coordinator with visiting schedules, attending interdisciplinary team meetings, and providing companionship, reading, writing letters, running errands, meal preparation, housework, as well as respite care for hospice patients and relief for their caregivers.
