LRH, Dickinson County Community Gardens to Offer Nutrition Presentation
The summer season brings an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables and an increased awareness of our nutritional health. Lakes Regional Healthcare and Dickinson County Community Gardens are offering a presentation for those interested in learning about simple nutritional choices that are easy to make and adjust to but make a big impact on overall health. The presentation, titled “Five Dietary Changes You Can Make Today,” will be held on Tuesday, July 13 from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. just inside the hospital’s south entrance in the Big Spirit Education Room.
Lakes Regional Healthcare Registered Dietitian Beth Samuelson and community gardener Dennis McDonald will give the one-hour long presentation. Topics will include what the body needs to maintain and improve health, immune function, and disease prevention, and the availability of fresh, local food products.
There is no need to register for this presentation. Admission is free and snacks and refreshments will be provided. Those with questions are encouraged to call 712-336-8785.
