Free Sports Injury Clinic This Fall
Orthopaedic surgeon John Leupold, M.D. is offering a Sports Injury Clinic August 28 through October 23. The Sports Injury Clinic is offered free of charge to area middle school, high school, and college athletes every Saturday morning at 10 am. Leupold is available to evaluate the athlete’s injury and specify treatment if needed. A free screening x-ray is also provided if warranted. Any follow-up appointments, further radiology tests such as CT scans or MRIs, or supplies such as casts, braces, or splints are charged to health insurance.
Leupold said, “We offer the clinic on Saturday mornings so athletes that are injured on Friday night can get relatively immediate care. They don’t have to wait until Monday to get the care they need. Patients also appreciate the clinic’s hours because it reduces the need to go to the emergency room to receive care for a non-emergent injury.”
All middle school, high school, and college area athletes are welcome to utilize the free Sports Injury Clinic every Saturday morning. Appointments and physician referrals are not necessary to utilize the clinic. However, a parent or guardian must accompany athletes under age 18. The Sports Injury Clinic is located at Dr. Leupold’s office in the west side of Lakes Regional Healthcare’s second floor. Anyone who has questions may call 712-336-8708.
