Additional Radiologists Join the Medical Staff at LRH
Radiologists Dr. Charles Crouch, Dr. Paul Skopec, and Dr. Casey Shaffer recently started providing care at Lakes Regional Healthcare. They will offer a wider scope of diagnostic interpretations and additional services in interventional pain management.
Dr. Crouch received his medical degree from the University of Iowa in 1990 and completed his residency in 1994 at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He has been practicing for 16 years, and currently lives in Spirit Lake.
Dr. Skopec also received his medical degree from the University of Iowa in 1989 and completed his residency in 1993 at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He moved to the lakes area approximately four years ago after practicing in Burlington for five years. He said, “It’s nice to practice at Lakes Regional; I live in this community and have kids in the school system. It’s nice to help people who are your neighbors and friends. There is more of a connection and emotional investment that makes providing care here that much more rewarding.”
Dr. Shaffer is originally from Spirit Lake and received his medical degree from the University of Iowa in 2005 and completed his residency at Southern Illinois University in June 2010. He is happy to move back to his hometown and be close to his friends and family as he and his wife raise their son.
Radiology Practitioner Assistant Shad Helle now also provides care at LRH with the new radiologists. Helle received his Radiologic Technology degree from Iowa Central Community College in 1995 and his Radiology Practitioner Assistant degree from Weber State University in 2007. He lives in Emmetsburg.
These providers complement the radiology care Dr. Jim Myerly has provided to LRH patients for 27 years. When asked about the new providers, LRH Radiology Manager Tracy Evans said, “We’re happy to welcome them to Lakes Regional Healthcare and believe they will complement the department and Dr. Myerly’s services well. Plus, more importantly, we are sure our patients will enjoy the professionalism and quality care our radiologists have to offer at Lakes Regional Healthcare.”
Anyone interested in learning about the radiology services provided by LRH should contact their local physician.
