LRH to Offer Free Diabetic Management Presentation

Lakes Regional Healthcare (LRH) is offering an upcoming presentation on the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People with Diabetes. LRH Registered Dietitian Beth Samuelson will give the presentation. The program will help those in attendance learn how they can use the seven habits to successfully manage their life and their disease. Topics include being proactive, beginning with the end in mind, putting first things first, thinking win-win, seeking first to understand and then to be understood, synergizing, and sharpening the saw. Lynn Hughes, RN and Certified in Diabetic Management, will also be available to answer questions.

Samuelson said, “Simplifying the management of diabetes can help a person feel like their life is back to normal after the diagnosis. Attitude is everything. Each small change or healthy habit that a person adopts leads to a big win in the end with a healthier life overall.”

The presentation will be held on Wednesday, March 7 from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. in the Big Spirit room in LRH’s Education Center, in the hospital’s lower level. Seating is limited, so those planning on attending are to register beforehand by calling 712-336-8785 and are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes early. A workbook and audio CD will be available for each person in attendance, admission is free and a light lunch and refreshments will be provided.
