| Medicare Coverage |
Home health agency services are covered by Medicare when these criteria are met:
• The person to whom services are provided is an eligible Medicare beneficiary.
• The home health agency that is providing the services is Medicare certified.
• The patient is homebound.
• Services are received in the patient’s place of residence.
• Services are provided under a plan of care established and approved by a physician.
• Services are reasonable and necessary.
• The patient needs skilled nursing care on an intermittent basis or physical therapy
or speech therapy services or has continued need for occupational therapy.
