Influenza is a serious respiratory disease caused by a virus that is spread from person to person through direct contact or droplets in the air. Influenza can cause the following symptoms, which typically last one to two weeks, but may last longer and require hospitalization:
• Fever • Cough • Runny or stuffy nose • Chills • Sore throat • Headaches • Fatigue • Muscle aches.
